Vegetables. As dietitians, we ingrain into your brains to eat more vegetables or “fill half of your plate with veggies”. To some of you veggie lovers out there, this is a breeze. To others, it is not so easy to get the recommended 3-5 servings per day. As a veggie lover myself, there are days when I know I am not getting an adequate amount.
I will always prefer and suggest to eat your veggies through fresh or frozen, and local, when possible. I have never been much of a green juice fan, primarily because they are filled with sugar (natural or not) and I’d rather eat my greens than chug down a green liquid. However, there are exceptions when I feel that drinking your greens would be beneficial, such as traveling or on-the-go.
