This Individual Berry Crisp utilizes frozen berries for a convenient, summer treat.
I can’t believe it is already the end of August. As usual, summer is flying by and fall will be here before we know it! If you’re like me, you’re thinking about using up summer’s best produce and cooking up seasonal dishes to take advantage of what is left. And although I used frozen fruit for this Individual Berry Crisp, a seasonal berry crisp is exactly what I wanted.
There are few things that smell better than a warm, bubbly crisp baking away in the oven. That comforting mixture of oats, brown sugar and butter has me salivating and gets me all fuzzy inside. It brings back pleasant memories of when my mom used to bake the most delicious apple crisp there ever was during my childhood.
Prepping and the actual cooking process of this Individual Berry Crisp is extremely easy (that’s why I did it). I always keep frozen fruit on hand because you never know when you’ll need it. It’s also great for when I get the unusual smoothie craving. The topping consists of pantry staples as well. Looks like there will be many more crisps in my future! I personally think this berry crisp (and all crisps) are best served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Sure, it is equally as delicious on its own but do yourselves a favor and do not leave out the ice cream – that is a demand. Oh, it also makes for a killer breakfast, served warm or cold 😉
